There is this old man who owns a pretty famous DVD store whom I like very much. He is down to earth and always smiles when he sees him. Unlike most of the Kathmandu native old men, he is very polite to young boys(yeah, most of the native Kathmandu old men are so rude to the boys, specially if the boys are outsiders). I often visit his store. Even though he has 4-5 boys on the shop, he always helps me find the DVD I want. And he assures me he’ll try his best to get the DVD next time if I don’t find it there. And most of the time he doesn’t disappoint me. I can even pay him some other time if I don’t have change or something.
And there is this young man who supplies handicrafts. I went to him asking for a scraf. I gave him design and asked him if he could call when the sample is ready. He asked me to come back after 3 days. I went there but guess what the product is not ready. I asked him again to call me when the product is ready. But he would not do that. He is like, “you are younger than me, you call me”. Gave me his card. Man, I am his client. Isn’t he supposed to call me when the product is ready? There are hundreds of other suppliers in Thamel of same kind. I could go anywhere. Anyway, I only felt bad for him. If I were in bad mood, I would have just ignored his product by saying that its not up to my requirement. I’m sure many people have done that to him. I asked him to change few things. You see, he is not going to call me when the product is ready, I will have to call him and ask me if it is ready. No matter if I have to call him 5 times.
And there is this one emotional fool who lends money to every single friends of him and never receives back. They doesn’t pay and he doesn’t ask. He just can’t say no when someone tells him a story about how importantly they are needing money. Not once, he believes same people again when they have story. More than 6 of his friends owe him money but none shows any sign of paying back. He definitely doesn’t like giving and never getting it back but he doesn’t want to make them feel guilty or bad or anything by asking for it.This guy is needing serious help. Somebody please help him :(
